Automotive spray painting provides protection to automobiles
and is also used to decorate automobiles by applying layers of paint around 100
µm in thickness. There is a systematic method for applying automotive spray paint
to an automobile which is described here in brief. First step is to prepare the
automobile for the purpose of painting by giving it a wash and removing dirt,
grease or road grime. Next step is to apply sand paper in circular motions to
give a smooth finish to the automobile and remove unwanted dust or paint. After
that masking tape is applied to areas where painting is not required before
applying the primer. Primer is applied in thin even coats and allowed to dry.
Sand paper is used again to make the surface smooth and finally the desired
colour paint is applied in successive coats and is allowed to dry.
There are several benefits to having an automobile painted
and some of them are described here in brief. Painting your automobile adds value
to it and makes it market ready. An automobile which is very well maintained
will have a higher selling price and this is a good way to increase the profit
margin. It is a cost effective method to bring your automobile back to life
rather than buying a new one as painting is less expensive than buying a new
automobile. The newly painted automobile can be custom painted in a way to
match the requirements of the owner. The automobile which is newly painted
looks brand new and this improves its aesthetic appeal making it look
interesting. Taking care of the automobile also improves its life and this is
good value for the money invested in it. Driving a well maintained automobile
gives the driver a new confidence and makes the driving experience enjoyable.
